Dmytro Kyrylenko, FC Shakhtar Commercial Director:

For Shakhtar, holding such a match is a step forward in finding new options for communicating with the audience of fans. We consider e-sports to be a promising area that not only attracts participants, but also becomes one of the types of full-fledged entertainment content for viewers, allowing to monetize it. The exhibition match will allow us to evaluate the audience's reaction to the new content format and decide on the direction for the clubs to move in the future. It may well result in the creation of a full-fledged cyber football league.

Oleksiy Palamarchuk, Vice President for Marketing for Dynamo:

Dynamo started developing the e-sports line even earlier. Since then we have conducted several tournaments; the Dynamo player Vitalii Mukha represented our club at several international competitions. Last year, the Dynamo players held a FIFA 2020 open club tournament which was watched live by the White-and-Blues’ fans. We are ready to further develop this area and would like to encourage other UPL clubs to take steps forward in e-sports. I am sure that our fans will not leave any kind of Dynamo’s activity in e-sports unnoticed.

We remind you that in December 2020, UPEA began cooperation with an associate member of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine - the Cyber Basketball Federation of Ukraine. The memorandum was signed by the President of the Federation Maxim Utekhin and UPEA Board Member Oleg Rybalka.
